Union Street delivers holistic solution for Peach Technologies

Peach Technologies is enjoying rapid success and fast growth. Recently the company was ranked ninth overall in The Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 league table and first in the South-East region of the 100 private technology companies with the fastestgrowing sales over the latest three years. Darren Scott-Healey, Managing Director of Peach Technologies, established the company in 2006 with a small business loan and has since overseen a spectacular increase in sales revenue of 137 per cent a year from £533,000 in 2007 to £7.1m in 2010.

Growth has been driven both by organic expansion and by acquisition. In November 2011 Peach Technologies acquired Vantage Communications adding over 200 customers and dealers to its client base and a further £1.2million to annual revenues. This was Peach Technologies’ third acquisition, with the company also buying-out Harmony Solutions and Pro-Voice in recent years.

Last year Peach Technologies was a finalist in the Comms National Awards, (which are backed by Comms Dealer) in the SME Vertical Solution Category. A key factor in Peach Technologies’ success is making business communications simple for customers with a single consolidated, easy-to understand bill every month.

Consequently fast accurate billing is critical to the company’s success and growth as Scott-Healey explains. “Our previous billing system required a lot of manual intervention and was slow. In addition our billing services supplier wasn’t developing the product and simply couldn’t keep pace with our development needs in critical areas such as tight WLR3 integration and CRM support.

With the growth we are experiencing that simply wasn’t good enough. Some of the companies we had acquired were already using the Union Street aBILLity billing application suite. It was clearly a superior solution offering a much wider set of applications and faster processing, so we made the switch to Union Street.”

A powerful data processing engine allows aBILLity to import, validate and rate CDRs at a rate of well over 20,000,000 per hour using standard hardware, which is much faster than most of its rivals. The platform automates many of the time-consuming processes that larger resellers find a challenge, resulting in a huge gain in productivity. These outstanding performance levels meant the aBILLity billing application suite won ‘Software Application Suite of the Year’ in the prestigious 2011 Comms National Awards.

With aBILLity at its core, Union Street has developed a suite of applications to provide a total solution for billing, realtime analysis, revenue assurance, fraud prevention and WLR3 integration. “We now offer our customers the WebaBillity PRO module which provides them with online realtime reporting of billing information, which is a great selling point. We also use the LineGuard module to detect and stop fraudulent activity on customer lines, another reassurance factor for customers”, Scott-Healey states. LineGuard uses a sophisticated algorithm to detect unusual calling patterns in a customer billing account and automatically prevents further losses by acting in real-time to bar fraudulent activity using WLR3.

For Peach Technologies an important aspect of aBILLity’s functionality is CRM integration. To manage the customer contact relationship, the aBILLity billing platform has an integration module available with Microsoft Dynamics CRM providing a bi-directional data exchange and synchronisation between applications. “We use Microsoft Dynamics for CRM and integration with aBILLity has provided major productivity benefits for us”, Scott-Healey confirms.

Integration with aBILLity provides promotion of a CRM record to create an account within aBILLity and synchronisation of data back to Microsoft Dynamics CRM. This allows Peach Technologies staff to view important billing data and tariff information within the CRM application, to improve their customer service provision. Scott-Healey continues, “We are a Microsoft Silver Partner so we can develop the Microsoft Dynamics CRM to meet the particular needs of our business.”

aBILLity also provides Peach Technologies with tight integration to the company’s Sage accounts package so that the invoices raised in aBILLIty are automatically posted into Sage sales ledger. “aBILLity will create a direct debit collections file for the bank and post the payments back to the sales ledger. The accounts activity including payments received are then viewable within aBILLity.”

Scott-Healey concludes, “Peach Technologies is experiencing fast-track growth, so we need a billing solutions supplier that can keep pace with us.
